Welcome to Digital Audio
Students will explore careers in the field of audio engineering. These areas include music production/beat making, sound for film, television, and gaming, live sound production, broadcast audio, and A/V Media. Students will also learn how to use Pro Tools, the industry standard recording software to work on a variety of audio projects from producing beats and
recording musicians to designing sound and editing sound effects for movies.

In 2008 Katy ISD had a vision to start an innovative program teaching Digital Audio. Having taught Audio/Video Production in college for nine years at that time, I was intrigued at the prospect of teaching core concepts in high school at Miller, and I haven't looked back since. After 40+ years in audio engineering, video production, theatrical production, studio production and live sports broadcasting and 20+ years as an instructor in Audio/Video Production, I truly enjoy helping prepare the Audio Engineers of the future.
"Hands-on" is the guiding philosophy behind Digital Audio Recording and mixing techniques. Students can acquire hundreds of engineering hours using state-of-the-art digital and analog equipment in the studio.
