 Seven Lakes High School Tournament Results

        On November 19th, SLJH Speech and Debate competed at the Seven Lakes High School middle school tournament. Spartan Speech and Debate took home the 3rd Place Sweepstakes trophy, our first sweepstakes trophy in school history! In addition, 18 Spartans were either finalists or medalists in their respective events. See below for a list of the finalists...

Taylor High School Tournament Results

       On October 15th, SLJH Speech and Debate competed at the Katy Taylor High School Invitational Tournament. Fifteen SLJH students reached the semi-finals in their chosen events. In addition, four speakers broke to the final round in their chosen event. See below for final round results!

Archit Goyal- 1st Place Duet Improv (SLJHS's 1st First Place Trophy!)

 

Current SLJH 6th and 7th Graders 

         If you are interested in signing-up to participate with the SLJH Speech and Debate team for the Fall of 2017, please be sure to attend the 1st meeting on September 6, 2017 in Mr. Smith's room. Experienced speech and debate students will be on hand to explain speech and debate. At this meeting, you will find out about the plans for the Fall semester, supplies, and the SLJH Speech and Debate Handbook.

 

Incoming 6th Graders 

         Are you interested in arguing or public speaking? Do you like improvisation or storytelling? Do you like friendly competition or current events? Are you an incoming SLJH 6th grader? If the answer to those questions is yes, then come to CRUSH Camp and stop by the SLJH Speech and Debate booth. Experienced speech and debate students will be on hand to talk to you about all the opportunities speech and debate has to offer. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Smith or Mrs. Wood. 

 

Parent Meeting!​

         All parents of SLJH Speech and Debate team members are invited to an informational meeting on September 7, 2017  from 6:30 to 7:30 PM in the LGI. Information will be provided regarding tournaments, fees, supplies, etc
