Welcome students and parents! I am fortunate to do what I love - help teenagers become better readers and writers, or in the case of OISM, supporting students as they research real-world problems and develop innovative solutions. I firmly believe that what will differentiate one job candidate from another as our students move out into the world will be those skills taught in English: clear writing, logical thinking, strong communication skills, and the ability to understand the nuances and artistry of language.

·         AP Literature and Composition

·        KAP/GT Online Independent Study & Mentorship

All course information, calendars, and assignments are available in Canvas. You can reach Canvas from MyKatyCloud.

I am originally from New Orleans, but I lived in Georgia, Arizona, and Florida before moving to Texas in 2013.  Teaching is my third profession – behind business and stay-at-home mom (for that is a profession!).  I returned to college for an additional degree when my youngest started kindergarten. (It's never too late to learn something new!)  Since then, I have taught everything from 7th grade through 12th grade, subjects including English, study skills, AVID, Reading, and AP Research.  My combination of business, academia, and parenting, combined with my range of grades, gives me a unique perspective in education – I know what students have encountered, and I know what lies ahead.  I enjoy calling upon ALL my life experiences to create thoughtful lessons that students will remember.
