When we check out books from our library we need to treat them with care, so that others may enjoy them for years to come.
Read our Book Care Brochure to learn how to care for library books!
Our library is now open for check-out before school! From 8:00 AM-8:20 AM each day, students may come into the library before school to return books or check out new ones. Texas Bluebonnet Award Reading Program at Kilpatrick!
The OKE Library is excited to invite all 3rd-5th graders to participate in a statewide reading incentive program called the Texas Bluebonnet Award program. Through this program, students read from a list of 20 books nominated by teachers and librarians across Texas. Students who read at least five of these books receive a special reading tag and are invited to vote for their favorite book in a statewide election. Students who read at least eight of these books are invited to our school's Bluebonnet Bash! To learn more about the Texas Bluebonnet Award program, click here.
Texas 2x2 Reading Program at Kilpatrick!
The 2x2 Reading List is a product of the Children’s Round Table, a unit of the Texas Library Association. Each year the 2x2 Committee creates a list of 20 recommended books for children age 2 to grade 2. At Kilpatrick, students who read five of these titles can receive a special 2x2 reading tag! Complete the Texas 2x2 Boot by coloring in the spaces that match the books you’ve read. When five spaces are colored, return the form to the library!
