Brittney Greene.pngWelcome

Welcome to English III! I am excited to explore the wonderful world of American Literature with my students. I cannot wait to meet you and get to grow together as a community of learners. My passion is to help students see how literature can impact their world and apply the life lessons that are imbedded in these literary lines to their lives.

Biography

My name is Brittney Greene, and I have been a certified ELAR teacher for over a decade. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Sam Houston State University with a B.A. in English and a minor in Secondary Education. When I graduated, I married my best friend, Levi, and we traveled around the country while he served in the United States Coast Guard. We lived in Tennessee, Virginia, and Alabama before coming back home to Houston. We have two awesome kids that always keep me busy, Wesley and Arya.

Some of my favorite hobbies include cooking/baking (I made Top 100 of Season 6 of MasterChef), painting, playing video games with my son, collecting and wearing novelty print and vintage clothes, listening to music, writing (I'm currently writing a book and a musical), and reading as many books as I can. I also have a background in theatre, so you may find me creating skits or parody songs for the books and other works we read in class. My favorite books are To Kill A MockingbirdLord of the RingsThe Hunger Games, and The Waiz Chronicles. I can't wait to learn about the books that my students love and show them books that have helped mold who I am as a teacher. I look forward to teaching English III at Miller Career & Technology Center this 2021-2022 school year!
